Wow, aren't whales the most incredible awe inspiring creatures!! They are totally freaking awesome. But hey, even though I really wanted to paint whales I wanted to add a little extra something, something to the idea to make it more in line with my narrative approach to painting. As my mind started to drift around what that might be I also had this other imagery of chariots bouncing around that I have also wanted to get on canvas. And it might not seem like these two ideas would go together very well but they totally did when I thought of the great Red Sea Story, and the idea for “East of Exodus” was born! It totally aligns with a major theme i've wanted to explore through my artwork imagery; in the macro sense this beautiful purple painting is about the journey that mankind has taken over millennia across the face of the earth and how the earth has recorded in its body, across its surface, in its water and in every nook and cranny over millennia 💦 the history of mankind. Wow, what a thought!! But there's another layer too, on a more personal level; we each traverse this life toward our real or imagined “promised land” and its not always smooth sailing but when things look hopeless we need to look for the miraculous to meet us on the way. I totally love an epic story and this is one of them.
Canvases are constructed from FSC® Certified Wood, or a comparable alternative if not available. Our Canvases come thin (0.8 - 1.2") or thick (1.6"), and are securely packed and shipped in protective boxes, ensuring no harm comes to them during transit.
